BSA Flatank (1914-23)

The BSA Flatank is a vintage motorcycle model produced by the Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA) between 1914 and 1923. It was designed for military use and saw action during World War I.

The motorcycle features a distinctive fuel tank that is flat on top, hence the name “Flatank.” The tank was designed to give the rider a better line of sight over the handlebars, as well as provide a more stable and lower center of gravity.

The BSA Flatank was equipped with a powerful 499cc four-stroke engine that was capable of speeds up to 65 mph. It also had a three-speed transmission system and a chain-driven rear wheel.

The motorcycle was highly regarded for its reliability and durability, which made it a favorite among British troops during the war. It was also used in civilian applications such as police work and as a transportation option for doctors and other professionals.

Today, the BSA Flatank is a highly sought-after collectible among vintage motorcycle enthusiasts. Its unique design and historical significance make it a valuable addition to any collection.
