BMW R50 S (1960-62)
The BMW R50 S motorcycle was produced between 1960 and 1962. It was part of the “Slash 2” series, which was known for its sportier appearance and improved performance. The R50 S was powered by a 494cc flat-twin engine with a maximum speed of 110 km/h. It had a distinctive smoke-gray and white paint scheme and featured an Earles front fork, which helped improve handling and stability. The bike also had a four-speed transmission, shaft drive, and a dual-leading-shoe front drum brake. Other notable features included a larger fuel tank, a new steering damper, and a larger seat for increased comfort on longer rides. The R50 S was a popular choice for touring and was known for its reliability and durability. Today, it remains a sought-after classic motorcycle among collectors and enthusiasts.
