Kawasaki KH 400 (1978-79)
The Kawasaki KH400 was a two-stroke motorcycle produced from 1978-79. It had a 400.4 cc, transverse three-cylinder, piston valve engine with a compression ratio of 6.5:1. The bike had a maximum power of 38 hp at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 3.9 kgf-m at 6500 rpm. The KH400 used three 26 mm Mikuni VM26SC carburetors and had a CDI ignition system. It featured a manual kick-start and a five-speed transmission, with a chain final drive. The KH400 had a double tubular steel cradle frame, a telescopic hydraulic fork front suspension, and dual shocks with a swing-arm rear suspension. It had a single 250mm disc brake in the front and a 180mm drum brake in the rear. The bike had 3.25-18 front and 3.50-18 rear tires, a ground clearance of 150mm, and a dry weight of 162kg. The fuel capacity of the KH400 was 16 liters or 4.2 US gallons.
