Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans Mark 1 (1977)

The Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans Mark I was produced in 1977 and had a four-stroke, V-twin engine that was longitudinally mounted with OHV pushrod and 2 valves per cylinder. The bike had a capacity of 844cc with a compression ratio of 10.2:1 and was air-cooled. It had a gear-driven oil pump with a replaceable full flow oil filter for lubrication, and an induction of 2x 36mm Dell’Orto carburetors. The ignition was battery-powered with double contact breakers and coils, and the bike had electric starting. With a maximum power of 80 hp at 7300 rpm and max torque of 79 Nm at 6000 rpm, the Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans Mark I had a top speed of 126 mph. The motorcycle had a 5-speed transmission and a final drive shaft, with a duplex cradle frame, telescopic fork front suspension, and swinging arm 5-way adjustable coil spring preload rear suspension. The braking system was 2x 300mm discs for the front and a single 242mm disc for the rear. It had a wheelbase of 1470mm, seat height of 775mm, ground clearance of 184mm, and a dry weight of 198kg with a fuel capacity of 22.5 litres. The bike could deliver an average fuel consumption of 39.6 mpg.
