Bimota YB11 Superleggera (1996-98)

The Bimota YB11 Superleggera was a limited production motorcycle made from 1996 to 1998, with only 600 units produced. It had a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 1002cc and a compression ratio of 12.0:1. The bike had 4 x 38mm Mikuni carbs and a digital electronic ignition, with a maximum power output of 145hp at 10,000rpm and a maximum torque of 109Nm at 8,500rpm. The transmission had 5 speeds, and the final drive was a chain. The frame was made of two diagonal beams, and the swing arm was aluminum. The front suspension was a telescopic fork with 51mm stanchions and adjustments for rebound, compression, and preload. The rear suspension was a single shock absorber with adjustments for compression, rebound, preload, and length. The front brakes had 2x 320mm discs, and the rear brakes had a single 230mm disc. The dry weight was 183kg, with a wet weight of 215kg and a fuel capacity of 15 liters. The bike had an average fuel consumption of 6.5l/100km and a top speed of 215km/h or 133.6mph. In road tests, the YB11 was compared to the CBR900RR Motoplus 1996.
