The Bimota SB8R Special, produced in 2000, was a limited edition motorcycle with only 150 units produced. Powered by a four-stroke, 996cc, 90-degree V-twin engine with electronic injection and induction, this bike had a maximum power of 98kW and maximum torque of 93 Nm. It had a six-speed transmission and chain final drive. The front suspension was a telescopic upside-down fork with rebound, compression, and preload adjustments, while the rear suspension was a single shock absorber with compression, rebound, preload, and length adjustments. The bike had a wheelbase of 1390mm and a seat height of 810mm. The front brakes consisted of two 320mm discs with Brembo calipers, while the rear brake was a single 230mm disc with a Brembo caliper. The bike had a dry weight of 176kg and a wet weight of 198kg, with a fuel capacity of 20 litres. The Bimota SB8R Special had a top speed of 265 km/h.
