Moto Guzzi V-7 Polizia (1969-70)

The Moto Guzzi V-7 Polizia was a motorcycle produced in 1969-70, specifically designed for the Italian police force. It was powered by a four-stroke, 90-degree V-twin engine with a capacity of 703cc and a maximum power output of 50hp at 6300rpm. The engine was longitudinally mounted and equipped with overhead valves and a carburetor for induction. The bike had a 4-speed transmission, twin dry plates clutch, and a final drive by shaft. The motorcycle featured telehydraulic forks on the front suspension, while the rear suspension had a swinging arm with hydraulic dampers. It had drum brakes, with two 220mm drums on the front and a 220mm drum on the rear. The tyres were 4.00-18 on both front and rear axles. The bike had a dry weight of 228kg and a fuel capacity of 20 litres. The Moto Guzzi V-7 Polizia was a heavy, reliable and straightforward motorcycle that was well-suited to high-intensity police work. Its design made it easy to maintain and provided excellent stability and control on the road. Despite its impressive features, it was eventually replaced by more modern and versatile motorcycles that better suited the changing needs of the police force.
