Yamaha R1 (2011)

The Yamaha YZF 1000 R1 ‘Ago’ Special Edition motorcycle was released in 2011. It features a transverse four-cylinder, DOHC engine with 998 cc capacity and a synthetic, 10W/40 engine oil. The Mikuni 45mm throttle body FI and TCI-controlled ignition provide improved performance, generating 133.9 kW or 182 hp at 12500 rpm, and 115.5 Nm or 11.8 kgf-m at 10000 rpm.

The Yamaha R1 has a six-speed transmission with a “O” ring chain final drive and a cable-operated multiplate wet slipper clutch. The bike has a Deltabox V aluminum frame and an inverted telescopic fork with adjustable preload, compression damping, and rebound damping. The front suspension provides 120 mm or 4.7 in of travel, while the rear suspension has a single shock with a piggyback reservoir providing the same amount of travel.

The Yamaha R1 has two 310 mm discs with six-piston calipers for the front brakes and a single 220mm disc with one-piston caliper for the rear brake. The bike has a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/55 ZR17 rear tire. Additionally, the R1 has a 24-degree rake, 102 mm or 4.0 in of trail, and dimensions of 2070 mm in length, 715 mm in width, and 1130 mm in height. The bike weighs 177 kg or 389.4 lb dry and 206 kg or 454 lb wet, with an 18-liter or 4.8-gallon fuel capacity.
