Yamha GX750 (1976-77)

The Yamaha GX750, also known as the shaft-driven XS750, was produced between 1976 and 1977. It was the first three-cylinder motorcycle that the company released, and it was designed as a touring bike with a comfortable ride for longer distances.

The GX750 had a unique engine configuration, with a 120-degree crankshaft that gave it a distinctive sound and a smooth ride. The engine produced 64 horsepower, which was plenty of power for cruising at highway speeds. The bike also had a six-speed transmission, which gave it good acceleration and a top speed of around 120 mph.

One of the most notable features of the GX750 was its shaft drive, which was a departure from the chain drive that was common at the time. The shaft drive was much smoother and required less maintenance, making it ideal for touring riders.

The GX750 also had a comfortable riding position and a large seat for both the rider and passenger. The bike was equipped with dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc brake, which provided plenty of stopping power.

However, the GX750 did have some issues, including a tendency to overheat and leak oil. Some owners also reported problems with the electrical system and the cooling system.

Overall, the Yamaha GX750 was a solid touring bike with a unique engine configuration and a smooth ride. While it had some issues, it was well-liked by many riders and remains a classic bike today.
