Suzuki TS250 (1976-77)

The Suzuki TS250 was a two-stroke, single cylinder motorcycle built between 1976 and 1977. It had a reed valve engine with a capacity of 246cc and a compression ratio of 6.5:1. The cooling system was air-cooled and it used a fuel/oil mix for lubrication with Suzuki’s Posi-force CCI system. The exhaust was a single, high drawn system and the bike used a Mikuni VN28SS carburetor for induction. The ignition system was Suzuki PEI and the bike started with a kick. The max power output was 17.2 kW/23 hp at 6500 rpm and 26.5 Nm/2.7 kgf-m/19.6 lb-ft of torque at 5000 rpm. The bike featured a 5-speed, constant mesh transmission with a wet, multi-plate clutch and a chain final drive. The frame was a double cradle, tubular steel construction with a telescopic fork, oil-damped front suspension and swing-arm, dual-shock, coil-spring rear suspension that was 5-way adjustable. The front and rear brakes were both drum, internal expanding systems, and the tires were 3.25-19 4PR Trails in the front and 4.00-18 4PR Trails in the rear. The bike had a length of 2184mm/86.0in, width of 889mm/35.0in, height at 1100mm/43.3in, a wheelbase of 1415mm/55.7in, and a ground clearance of 249mm/9.8in. The dry weight of the bike was 111kg/245lbs, and it had an oil capacity of 1.1L/2.3 US pt/1.9 Imp pt and fuel capacity of 9.1L/2.4 US gal/2.0 Imp gal. Its top speed was estimated to be 129km/h/80mph.
