The Moto Guzzi 1000SPII Spada was produced from 1983 to 1987 and featured a four-stroke, 90 degrees V twin alloy engine with pushrod valve operation and two valves per cylinder. This air-cooled engine had a capacity of 949cc and a compression ratio of 9.2:1. Induction came from two 30mm Dell’Orto VHB with air filtering and inlet silencer, and lubrication was handled by a pressure pump. The maximum power of the Spada was 67 hp at 6700 rpm, with a max power of 62 hp at 6500 rpm at the rear wheel, and max torque of 75.3 Nm/55.6 lb-ft at 5200 rpm. The transmission was a 5-speed with final drive by shaft within the right side pivoted fork leg. The frame was a duplex cradle design, complete with front suspension that used a Moto Guzzi telescopic air fork with pressure equalizer and a swinging fork with adjustable hydraulic dampers at the rear. The motorcycle weighed 220kg/485lbs dry and had a fuel capacity of 26 litres/6.8 US gal. The Spada also featured light alloy casting wheels, with a front tyre of either 110/90 H16 or 110/90 V16 and a rear tyre of either 120/90 H18 or 120/90 V18.
