Gilera SP02 125 (1990)

The Gilera SP02 125 is a two-stroke, single cylinder, reed valve motorcycle with a capacity of 124cc. It has a liquid-cooled engine and a compression ratio of 12.5:1. The bike is equipped with 32mm Dell’Orto carburetors and an electric ignition with capacitive output. It has a maximum power of 35hp at 10600 rpm and a maximum torque of 2.1kgf-m at 9700 rpm. The clutch system consists of a multi-disc oil bath and the transmission has six speeds. The final drive is via chain. The front suspension features telescopic forks and the rear suspension is a swing arm gas single shock. The bike is fitted with single disc brakes in both the front and rear. The front and rear tires are 2.75-21 and 4.10-17 respectively. The bike has a wet weight of 132kg and a fuel capacity of liters. On average, the bike consumes 20 km/lit of fuel. It can brake from 60-0 km/h in 12.0 meters and from 100-0 km/h in 38.3 meters. The Gilera SP02 125 has a quarter-mile time of 15.1 seconds and a top speed of 171.2 km/h. The motorcycle underwent a road test in 1990 by Motosprint.
