Ducati Streetfighter 1099 S (2009)

The 2009 Ducati Streetfighter S motorcycle is powered by a four-stroke, 1099cc L twin-cylinder engine with desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder and a 12.4:1 compression ratio. It has a lightweight 2-1-2 exhaust system with catalytic converter and two lambda probes, as well as electronic fuel injection and digital CDI ignition. It has a maximum power output of 115.6 kW (155 hp) at 9500 rpm and maximum torque of 119 Nm (87.5 lb-ft) at the same rpm. The clutch is a dry multiplate with hydraulic control, and it has a 6-speed transmission and a chain final drive.

The frame is a tubular steel Trellis frame, and it has an ~Ahlins 43mm fully adjustable upside-down fork with TiN front suspension and a progressive linkage with fully adjustable ~Ahlins monoshock with top-out spring rear suspension. The front brakes are two 330 mm semi-floating discs with radially mounted Brembo Monobloc calipers, and the rear brake is a single 245 mm disc with a 2-piston caliper. The front and rear wheels are 5-spoke forged light alloy, and the front and rear tyres are 120/70 – ZR17 and 190/55 – ZR17 respectively.

The motorcycle has a 26-degree rake and a 1475 mm (58.1 in) wheelbase, with a dry weight of 167 kg (368 lbs) and a wet weight of 197 kg (434.3 lbs). It has a fuel capacity of 16.5 litres (4.4 US gal / 3.6 Imp gal) and a top speed of 256.9 km/h (159.6 mph). Standing 1/4 mile time is 10.8 sec at 214 km/h, and the standing 1000 m time is 20.2 sec at 243.7 km/h. The motorcycle has received positive reviews from Popular Mechanics.
