The Ducati Monster S2R 1000 is a motorcycle released in 2008 with a four-stroke L twin-cylinder engine and 992cc capacity. It has a compression ratio of 10.0:1 and is air-cooled, with fuel injection and an electric ignition. The maximum power output is 70 kW / 95 hp at 8000 rpm with a max torque of 94 Nm / 9.6 kgf-m 69.4 lb-ft at 6000 rpm. The transmission is a six-speed with a chain final drive. The frame is made of tubular steel trellis, with a Showa 43mm upside-down fully adjustable fork at the front and a progressive linkage with a preload and rebound adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear. The bike has aluminium single-sided swingarm with 148mm of rear-wheel travel and 130mm of front-wheel travel. The front and rear brakes are respectively 2 x 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers and a single 245 mm disc with a two-piston caliper. The front and rear tyres are 120/70 ZR 17 and 180/55 ZR 17 respectively, with a seat height of 800 mm / 31.5 in.
