The Ducati 900 SS Final Edition (1998) was a limited production motorcycle of only 800 units made. It had a four-stroke, 90-degree L-twin cylinder engine with a capacity of 904 cc and a compression ratio of 9.2:1. The engine was air-cooled and had a Mikuni BDST 38-B67 induction system. The ignition was a Kokusan electronic inductive discharge and it had a 12V 16Ah battery. The motorcycle had a dry, multiplate clutch and a six-speed transmission with 1st gear ratio of 2.466 and 6th gear ratio of 0.857. The final drive was a chain with a ratio of 2.466:1. The front suspension was a 41mm Showa fully adjustable inverted fork and the rear suspension was a progressive type with adjustable Showa GD monoshock. The front brakes consisted of 2 x 320 mm discs and the rear brake was a single 245 mm disc. The dry weight was 180 kg and the fuel capacity was 17.5 L. The motorcycle had a standing 1/4 mile time of 11.8 seconds and a top speed of 219.4 km/h. The colours available were gold frame and silver.
