The Ducati 600 TT2, produced from 1982 to 1984, featured a four stroke, 90 degree L twin cylinder, SOHC, desmodromic 2 valve per cylinder engine with belt-driven cooling. With a capacity of 598 cc and a compression ratio of 10.2:1, it was equipped with a Dell’Orto PHF36A carburetor (later models had a Dell’Orto Malosssi 41 mm) and Bosch BTZ electronic ignition with a 12V 14 Ah battery. The maximum power output was 55.9 kW / 76 hp @ 10500 rpm in 1982 and 57.4 kW / 78 hp @ 10500 rpm in 1983. The motorcycle had a wet, multiplate clutch with a 5-speed transmission and a final drive ratio of 3.15:1 with a chain drive. Suspension was handled by a 35mm Marzocchi telescopic fork at the front and a swinging arm, Marzocchi PVS1 single shock with adjustable preload and damping at the rear. Braking was provided by Brembo Gold Series discs at both the front (2 x 280 mm) and rear (single 260 mm). The front and rear tires had different sizes depending on the year of the model. The seat height was 762 mm / 30.0 in while the motorcycle weighed 148 kg / 326 lbs. The fuel capacity was 18 L / 4.8 US gal / 4.0 Imp gal. The standing 1/4 mile time was 13.0 sec and top speed was 204 km/h / 127 mph.
