Ducati 400SS (1991-98)

The Ducati 400SS Junior (Half Fairing) was produced from 1991 to 1998. It had a four stroke, 90 degrees L twin cylinder engine with desmodromic 2 valve per cylinder and a capacity of 398 cc. The compression ratio was 10.0:1 and it was air cooled with a Mikuni B79 carburetor. The ignition was Kokusan electronic and it had a 12V 16Ah battery with an electric starting system. The motorcycle had a maximum power of 30.9 kW / 42 hp at 10000 rpm and a maximum torque of 35.2 Nm / 3.6 kgf-m / 26 ft-lb at 8500 rpm.

The transmission was a 6 speed with a primary drive ratio of 2.264:1 (34/77) and the final drive ratio was 3.210:1 (14/45) with a chain final drive. It had Marzocchi inverted telescopic fork as the front suspension and a cantilever swingarm with Marzocchi PBS1R monoshock, preload and rebound damping as the rear suspension.
