The Ducati 400 F3 is a four-stroke motorcycle produced in 1986 with a 90-degree L-twin cylinder, Desmo SOHC, and belt-driven engine. Its 398 cc capacity and 10.4:1 compression ratio give it a maximum power of 34.6 kW/47 hp @ 10000 rpm and a maximum torque of 26.5 Nm / 2.7 kgf-m / 19.5 ft-lb @ 7500 rpm. The motorcycle comes with an electronic ignition, Bosch BTZ and a Dell’Orto PHF30M carburetor, which was later replaced by PHF36. It also has an electric starter and a Yuasa 12V 14Ah battery. The Ducati 400 F3 has a wet multiplate clutch and 5-speed transmission, which was later upgraded to 6 speed. Its suspension includes a 35 mm Marzocchi fork in the front and a single adjustable shock, Boge in the rear. The motorcycle has two 260mm discs on the front brakes and a single 260 mm disc on the rear brakes. It also features a chain final drive and 100/90-18 front tires and 120/80-18 rear tires. The motorcycle has a length of 2050 mm / 80.7 in, width of 670 mm / 26.4 in, height of 900 mm / 35.4 in, wheelbase of 1400 mm / 55.1 in, and a seat height of 750 mm / 29.5 in.
