Buell XB12S Lightning (2004)

The Buell XB12S Lightning motorcycle was produced in 2004 and featured a 45 degrees V-Twin engine with a capacity of 1203 cc. The engine was cooled by air, had a compression ratio of 10.0:1 and was equipped with a free breathing 2-into-1 Buell Interactive exhaust system. The bike had a downdraft DDFI II fuel injection system and could produce a maximum power of 86 kW/ 100 hp and a maximum torque of 110 Nm/ 11.2 kgf-m/ 81 ft-lbs. It had a 5-speed transmission with belt final drive and an aluminum frame with Uniplanar c Powertrain vibration isolation system, 21 degrees rake, and 83 mm/ 3.3″ trail. It had a ZTL type brake with a 6 piston fixed caliper at the front and a single ~A240 mm disc 1-piston floating caliper at the back, with 3.50 x 17″ and 5.50 x 17″ wheels front and rear, respectively. The bike weighed 179 kg/ 395 lbs, had a fuel capacity of 14 L/ 3.7 US gal and an average fuel consumption of 5.6 L/100 km/ 17.9 km/L/ 42 US mpg. Its top speed was 216 km/h/ 134 mph, and it could cover the standing quarter-mile distance in 12.2 seconds. Reviews of the bike were not provided.
