Bimota YB9 SR (1994-1996)

The Bimota YB9 SR was produced from 1994 to 1996, with only 651 units made. It features a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder engine, with a capacity of 599cc and a compression ratio of 12.0:1. The engine is cooled by liquid and has an induction of 4x Keihin CKVD36 carbs, with a digital ignition and electric starter. The bike has a maximum power of 72.9 kW/100 hp @ 11500 rpm and a maximum torque of 65.7 Nm/6.7 kgf-m/48.5 lb-ft. @ 9500 rpm. It has a six-speed transmission and a chain final drive.

The frame is made of two diagonal beams in section bars of aluminum with internal ribbing. The cylinders are supported by plates bolted to the beams, and the swingarm is made of aluminum. The front suspension features 41mm Paioli upside-down forks with 22 possible settings in compression and 24 in extension adjustable. The rear suspension is a Paioli monoshock preload, rebound, and bump adjustable. It is also possible to adjust the wheelbase by +/- 5 mm.

The front brakes consist of 2x 320mm discs with 4 piston calipers, while the rear brake is a single 230mm disc with a 2 piston caliper. The bike has a front tire size of 120/70 ZR17 and a rear tire size of 180/55 ZR17. It has a dry weight of 175 kg/385.8 lbs., with dimensions of 2080 mm/81.9 in. in length, and 810 mm/31.9 in. in width. The wheelbase is 1410 mm/55.5 in., and the seat height is 810 mm/31.9 in. The fuel capacity is 20 liters/5.3 US gal.

Bimota YB9 SR is considered one of the best bikes Bimota ever made, with a FZR600 Yamaha engine powering a lithe handling, sharp braking masterpiece on wheels.
