Bimota YB5 (1987-1988)

The Bimota YB5 was produced between 1987 and 1988, with only 208 units made. It was powered by a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder 1188cc engine, with 4 valves per cylinder, and a maximum power output of 130 hp at 9000 rpm. The frame was a double closed cradle made of chrome molybdenum steel, with Marzocchi forks and a single central shock absorber. The bike had a top speed of 243 km/h (151 mph) and was featured in a Moto Revue road test. The YB5 was fitted with a chain final drive, 2x 280mm front brake discs, and a single 280mm rear brake disc. The front and rear tyres were 120/70 ZR18 and 170/60 ZR18 respectively. The dry weight of the bike was 210 kg (463 lbs). Overall, the Bimota YB5 was a high-performance motorcycle, suitable for both racing and everyday riding.
