Honda VTR 1000F Firestorm (1997-98)

The Honda VTR 1000F Firestorm is a 1997-98 motorcycle with a four-stroke, 90 degree V-twin, DOHC, 4 valve per cylinder engine and a capacity of 996 cc/ 60.8 cu-in. It has a maximum power of 110 hp / 80.2 kW @ 9000 rpm (rear tire 103.1 hp @ 8700 rpm) and maximum torque of 97Nm / 71.5 lb-ft @ 7000rpm. The bike features a hydraulic clutch and a six-speed transmission, with final drive being a chain. The frame is made of aluminum and has a twin spar, while the front suspension uses a 41mm H.M.A.S. cartridge-type fork with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping. The rear suspension is a Pro-Link with preload and rebound damping-adjustable gas-charged H.M.A.S. damper. Front brakes feature 2x 296mm discs with 6-piston calipers, while the rear brake has a single 220mm disc with a 1-piston caliper. The fuel capacity is 15.8 Liters / 4.2 US gal with an average consumption of 17.2 km/lit. It has a top speed of 248.3 km/h / 154.2 mph and a 0-60 acceleration time of 3.7 seconds. The bike has been reviewed by Motoplus and Motosprint in 1997.
