Honda ST1300 (2003)

The Honda ST1300 Pan European is a motorcycle produced in 2003. It has a 1261cc engine, a four-stroke longitudinally V-four cylinder, DOHC, and 4 valves per cylinder. The engine’s bore and stroke measurements are 78 x 66mm with a compression ratio of 10.8:1. The engine is liquid-cooled and uses semi-synthetic 10W/40 oil for lubrication. Induction is through PGM-FI electronic fuel injection and 36mm throttle bodies. Ignition is computer-controlled, digital transistorized. The engine has a maximum power of 118 hp / 87 kW @ 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 117 Nm / 11.93 kg-m @ 6500 rpm.

The bike’s transmission is a 5-speed with a shaft final drive. The frame is an aluminum-alloy triple-box-section pressure cast dual-spar with a cast aluminum-alloy swingarm. The front suspension is a 45mm air-assist telescopic fork with a front wheel travel of 117 mm / 4.3 inches. The rear suspension is a single-side conventional damper with adjustable preload and rebound damping, offering a rear wheel travel of 133 mm / 4.8 inches.

The front brakes are two 310 mm discs with 3-piston calipers, while the rear brake uses a single 316mm disc with a 3-piston caliper. An ABS option is available for the rear brake. The wheels are fitted with tires measuring 120/70 ZR18 in the front and 170/60 ZR17 in the back. The bike’s dimensions are length 2282 mm / 89.8 in, width 935 mm / 36.8 in (including panniers), and height 1332 mm / 52.4 in, with a wheelbase of 1491 mm / 58.7 in and a seat height of 790 mm / 31.1 in. The bike weighs 286 kg / 631 lbs – ABS 289 kg / 637 lbs dry and 331 kg / 730 lbs wet, with a fuel capacity of 29 Liters / 7.7 US gal. It offers an average fuel consumption of 19.8 km/L or 46.7 mpg. It can achieve a standing quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds and a top speed of 225 km/h / 139.8 mph.
