The Yamaha YDS-1 was a motorcycle produced between 1959 and 1961. It had a two stroke, piston-port, parallel twin engine with a capacity of 247cc and a bore x stroke of 54 x 54mm. Cooling was air-cooled and the compression ratio was unspecified. Induction was via a single carburetor and starting was via kick. The motorcycle had a maximum power output of 18hp at 7500rpm and a maximum torque output of 5.2kgf-m at 6000rpm. Transmission was five speed and the final drive was via chain.
