Yamaha XS650 SE (1978-89)

The Yamaha XS650 SE was a motorcycle produced from 1978 to 1989 with a four stroke, parallel twin cylinder, SOHC engine and a capacity of 653cc. It had a compression ratio of 8.5:1, air cooling, and a wet sump lubrication system. The bike ran on 2 Mikuni BS34SU carburetors with an ignition system powered by a battery and induction coil. It was capable of generating 39.5 kW/53 hp at 7200 RPM and 54 Nm/5.5 kgf-m/39.8 lb-ft at 5500 RPM of max power and torque, respectively. The bike had a 5-speed transmission and was propelled through the final drive via a chain.

The Yamaha XS 650 SE had a telescopic fork front suspension and dual shock absorbers in the rear. Braking power was provided by twin hydraulic discs measuring 267 mm for the front and a single hydraulic disc of that size for the rear.
