Yamaha XJ 600S Diversion (1992-95)

The Yamaha XJ 600S Diversion was produced from 1992 to 1995 with a 599cc, four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder engine. It had a compression ratio of 10:1 and used Mikuni BDS28 downdraft carburettors for induction. The bike had a maximum power of 61 hp at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 33.9 lb-ft at 7,000 rpm. The transmission was a six-speed with a wet multiple plate clutch and chain final drive. The bike had cast alloy wheels, 3-spoke wheels, and was equipped with a double cradle frame. The front suspension was a 41mm telescopic fork, and the rear suspension was a Monocross monoshock adjustable for preload. The bike had a front wheel travel of 140mm and a rear wheel travel of 110mm. The brakes consisted of 2x 320mm discs with a 2-piston caliper on the front and a single 245mm disc with a 1-piston caliper on the rear. The bike weighed 213 kg (469.5 lbs) when wet and had a fuel capacity of 17 litres (4.4 US gal). The dimensions of the bike were 2170 mm (85.4 in) in length, 770 mm (30.3 in) in width, and 1205 mm (47.4 in) in height, with a seat height of 770 mm (30.3 in) and a ground clearance of 150 mm (5.9 in).
