The Yamaha TT600 was produced from 1988-1990 and was a single-cylinder, four-stroke motorcycle with a 595cc engine. It had a compression ratio of 8.5:1, a dry sump lubrication system, and utilized a 27mm dual-stage Teikei carburetor. The bike could be started with a kick start and had a maximum power of 45hp at 6500 rpm with a maximum torque of 50Nm at 5500 rpm. The bike had a five-speed transmission and a chain final drive. The front suspension was 43mm telescopic forks, while the rear suspension had an alloy swinging arm with adjustable dampers. The front brakes were a single 310mm disc, while the rear brakes were a single 270mm disc. The bike had a seat height of 935mm and weighed 138kg with a fuel capacity of 13 liters. Its braking distance from 60-0 and 100-0 was 16.6m and 49.8m, respectively, while its standing quarter-mile time was 13.8sec with a top speed of 146.4km/h.
