The Yamaha TT-R 250 was a motorcycle produced from 1993 to 1994. It had a four-stroke single-cylinder engine with a capacity of 249cc and a four-valve per cylinder DOHC system. The motorcycle was air-cooled, and its bore and stroke measured 73 x 59.6mm. The bike had a compression ratio of 10.3:1 and an TEIKEI Y30P carb for induction. The Yamaha TT-R 250 had a Digital CDI ignition system and an electric starting mechanism that could deliver power of 28 hp at 8500 rpm and torque of 28 kgf-m at 7000 rpm. The motorcycle also had a 6-speed transmission and a final chain drive.
The TT-R 250 featured telescopic front forks with coil air spring oil damper, and Mono cross rear suspension that had a single shock with a link-type mechanism that could adjust preload. The front and rear brakes were single discs that measured 245mm and 220mm, respectively. The front tyre measured 3.00-21, and the rear was 4.60-18. The bike had a height of 1260 mm, a length of 2,096 mm, and a width of 836 mm. The wheelbase was 1405 mm, and the seat height was 914 mm with a ground clearance of 305 mm. The TT-R 250 weighed 113 kg with a fuel capacity of 10.2 litres.
