The Yamaha SRX 600 was a motorcycle produced between 1987-88. It had a 608cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, SOHC, 4-valve engine with a compression ratio of 8.5:1. It was air-cooled with a 27mm Teikei 2KY27PV carburetor and CDI ignition, and could produce a maximum power of 45 hp at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 4.9 kgf-m at 5500 rpm.
The SRX 600 had a 5-speed transmission and a chain final drive. The front suspension consisted of 36mm telescopic forks with 134mm of wheel travel, while the rear suspension had dual Kayaba shocks that were 5-way adjustable for preload. Front braking was provided by 2x 267mm discs, with a single 240mm disc in the rear. The bike had a section 3-spoke cast aluminium wheel configuration with a front tyre of 110/70-17 and a rear tyre of 150/60-17.
The bike weighed 155 kg dry and 172 kg wet, and had a fuel capacity of 15 litres. It had an average consumption of 20.2 km/lit and could reach a top speed of 171.9 km/h. Braking distances were 14.2 m from 60-0 km/h and 41.2 m from 100-0 km/h. The bike could stand a quarter-mile run in 14.1 seconds, reaching a speed of 145.0 km/h.
Overall, the Yamaha SRX 600 was a popular bike with decent power and handling, making it a favorite among riders of the time.
