The Yamaha RZ500, also known as RD 500LC or RZV500, is a two-stroke motorcycle from 1984. It features a 50 degree-V4 cylinder engine with a capacity of 499 cc and a liquid cooling system. It has a compression ratio of 6.6:1 and 4x 26mm Mikuni carburetors for induction. The ignition is digital CDI and the spark plug is NGK, BR9HS. The bike has a kick start and can reach a maximum power of 88 hp at 9500 rpm and maximum torque of 6.57 Nm at 8500 rpm. The clutch is cable operated and the transmission has 6 speeds with a chain final drive. The frame is made of steel twin downtube and it has a front suspension of 37mm Air assisted telescopic forks, 4-way spring preload adjustable and anti-dive variable.
