The Yamaha RD 500LC Christian Sarron Replica was released in 1985 and featured a two-stroke, 50 degree-V4 cylinder engine with a capacity of 499cc. It had a liquid cooling system, 4x 26mm Mikuni carburetors, and a digital CDI ignition. The maximum power output was 88hp at 9500rpm and the maximum torque was 6.57Nm at 8500rpm. The front brakes were 2x 267mm discs with 2 piston calipers and the rear brakes were a single 245mm disc with 2 piston caliper. The front and rear tires were 120/80 V16 and 130/80 V18 respectively. The motorcycle weighed 180kg dry and 198.6kg wet with a fuel capacity of 22 litres. The average fuel consumption was 27.5mpg and it had a standing quarter-mile time of 11.7 seconds at a top speed of 148mph.
