The Yamaha RD200 was a two-stroke, parallel twin motorcycle produced in 1977-78. It had a torque induction engine with a capacity of 195cc and a 7.1:1 compression ratio. The bike had autolube lubrication with a 1.2L oil capacity and 2x Y20P carburetors for induction. The ignition was battery coil and it could start with either electric or kick. The bike had a maximum power of 20 hp at 8000rpm and a maximum torque of 1.9 kgf-m at 7000rpm. The clutch was a wet multi-plate and it had a 5-speed transmission with a chain final drive. The front suspension was telescopic forks and the rear suspension had dual shocks. The single 245mm disc front brake was balanced with a rear drum brake. The bike had a length of 1945mm, width of 755mm, and height of 980mm with a wheelbase of 1240mm. The seat height was 780mm and the ground clearance was 155mm. With a wet weight of 140kg, the bike had an 11.5L fuel capacity.
