The Yamaha RD125LC YPVS was a two-stroke, single cylinder motorcycle produced from 1983 to 1984. It had a liquid-cooled, 123cc engine with a compression ratio of 6.4:1 and an autolube oil capacity of 1.1L. The bike had a 24mm Mikuni carburetor and Hitachi CDI ignition, and it was capable of producing a maximum power of 20hp at 9500rpm and a maximum torque of 1.6kgf-m at 9250rpm. The bike was equipped with a 6-speed transmission, chain final drive, and front suspension with 32mm telescopic forks. The rear suspension was a monocross linkage with 6-way preload adjustment.
