The Yamaha FZ 400 Fazer was a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve per cylinder motorcycle made in 1997. With a capacity of 399 cc/24.3 cu-in, it had liquid cooling and a compression ratio of 11.7:1. Induction was by 4x Mikuni BDST32 carburetors and ignition was TCI digital. It boasted a maximum power of 53 hp/38.7 Kw @ 11500 rpm and max torque of 30.8 Nm/3.8 kgf-m @ 9500 rpm. The Fazer also had a wet multi-plate clutch, six-speed transmission, and a chain final drive. It featured telescopic forks in the front suspension and a monoshock rear suspension. The front and rear brakes were comprised of two discs and a single disc, respectively. The front and rear tires were sized at 110/70 R17 and 160/60 R17. The wheelbase was 1420 mm / 55.9 in, seat height was 740 mm / 29.1 in, and ground clearance was 130 mm / 5.1 in. It weighed 177 kg / 390 lbs and had a fuel capacity of 18 liters / 4.7 US gallons.
