Triumph Trophy TR6C Special (1972-73)

The Triumph Trophy TR6C Special motorcycle was manufactured in various models between 1972 and 1973, including the Street Scrambler, Police, Roadster, and 5-Speed Roadster. The bike was powered by a four-stroke, parallel twin-cylinder, OHV engine with a capacity of 649 cc. It had a compression ratio of 8.5:1 and was air-cooled, with a 30 mm Amal concentric carburetor R930/60 for induction. Ignition was provided by a 12V battery and coil from Lucas, and starting was electric. The bike had a maximum power output of 35 kW or 47 hp at 6700 rpm. The clutch was wet, multi-plate, and cable-operated, while the transmission had either four-speed or five-speed constant mesh. Final drive was via chain, with a total of 106 links, and the gear ratios differed slightly depending on the model. The frame was all-welded and had a large backbone, with oil-bearing. Suspension comprised a telescopic fork at the front and a swingarm with two Girling dampers at the rear. Braking was done using SLS drums, with full width of 8 inches at the front and one-side of 7 inches at the rear. The front tyre measured 3.25 x 19 inches while the rear tyre was 4.00 x 18 inches. The bike measured 2140 mm in length, 700 mm in width, and had a wheelbase of 1420 mm. The seat height was 873 mm and the ground clearance was 180 mm, while the bike weighed 174 kg dry or 196 kg wet. Fuel capacity was either 11.3 L for US models or 18 L for UK & Export models.
