The Triumph Trophy 1200 motorcycle was produced from 2000-01 and featured a four stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 1180cc/72cu in. The engine used a liquid cooling system, had a compression ratio of 10.6:1, and was lubricated with wet sump engine oil. Induction was provided by 4 x 36mm flat side CV carburetors and ignition was of the digital inductive type. The bike had an electric starter and a maximum power of 78.7 kW/108 hp at 9000 rpm and maximum torque of 104 Nm/10.6 kg-m/76.7 ft-lb at 5000 rpm. The transmission had 6 speeds and final drive was via chain. The bike featured a steel trellis frame, front suspension with 43mm forks adjustable for compression, rebound damping and spring preload and rear suspension with a monoshock adjustable for preload and rebound damping. The front brakes included 2 x 310mm discs with 4 piston calipers and the rear brake had a single 255mm disc with a 2 piston caliper. The front tyre size was 120/70 ZR17 and rear tyre size was 170/60 ZR17. The bike had a rake of 27o, a trail of 105 mm/4.1 in, a length of 2152 mm/84.7 in, a width (handlebars) of 790 mm/31.1 in, and a height of 1430 mm/56.3 in. The dry weight was 235 kg/518 lbs and the fuel capacity was 25 litres/6.6 US gal/5.5 Imp gal.
