Suzuki GSX-R600 SRAD (1997-98)

The Suzuki GSX-R600 SRAD is a motorcycle produced from 1997-98. It has a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 599 cc and a compression ratio of 12.0:1. The bike is liquid-cooled, with a wet sump lubrication system and induction provided by 4 Mikuni BDSR36 carburetors. The ignition is digital, and electric starting is available. Its maximum power output is 80 kW (109.7 hp) at 11,800 rpm, and maximum torque is 67.6 Nm (50 ft-lb) at 10,000 rpm.

The clutch is wet, multiple discs, cable-operated, and the transmission is six-speed. It has a chain final drive, with a twin-spar aluminum frame, and a conventional cartridge-type, fully adjustable front suspension. The rear suspension is link-type, gas/oil damped, and has fully adjustable spring preload, compression, and rebound damping. The rear wheel travel is 130 mm (5.1 in).

The front brakes are two 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers, while the rear brake is a 220 mm disc with a 2-piston caliper. The wheels are steel, 3-spoke, with 120/70 ZR17 front tires and 180/55 ZR17 rear tires. The wheelbase is 1390 mm (54.7 in.), and the bike’s dimensions are 2065 mm (81.3 in) in length, 720 mm (28.3 in) in width, and 1135 mm (44.7 in) in height, with a seat height of 830 mm (32.7 in).

The bike has a dry weight of 174 kg (384 lbs) and an 18-Litre (4.8 US gal/4.0 Imp gal) fuel capacity. It averages 6.5 L/100 km (15.4 km/L/36 US mpg/43 Imp gal) fuel consumption. It can brake from 60 km/h to 0 in 13.7 m (44.9 ft), brake from 100 km/h to 0 in 38.5 m (126.3 ft), and do a standing 1/4 mile in 11.3 seconds at 196.2 km/h (121.9 mph). Its top speed is 254 km/h (158 mph). The Suzuki GSX-R600 SRAD was included in a group test by Motosprint in 1997.
