The Norton International Model 30 is a four-stroke, single cylinder, SOHC motorcycle with a capacity of 490.1 cc/29.9 cu in. It has a cooling system of air cooled with a compression ratio of 7.23:1. The PAzin Amal TT carburetors fuel the engine while the Lucas dynamo controls the ignition. It uses a kick starter to start and has a maximum power of 22 kW/29.5 hp at 5500 rpm. It has a 4-speed, close ratio transmission with a final drive of a chain with gear ratios of 1st 10.8/2nd 6.18/3rd 5.1/4th 4.64:1. The frame is a cradle type with a front suspension of a road holder telescopic fork and an undamped plunger for the rear suspension.
