The Moto Guzzi V 50 was produced between 1977 and 1978, and had a four stroke, 90 degrees V twin engine with a capacity of 490 cc. The engine was longitudinally mounted and had two valves per cylinder, with induction via two 24mm Dell’Orto carburetors. Ignition was battery powered inductive, with a dry single plate clutch and five speed transmission. The bike had a shaft final drive, and a duplex spine type frame. It featured front suspension with telehydraulic gas forks, and rear suspension with a swinging arm fork with hydraulic gas shock absorbers. The front brakes were dual 260mm discs, with a single 235mm disc at the rear. The tires were 3.00-18 at the front and 3.50-18 at the rear. The seat height was 30 inches, and the bike had a dry weight of 152 kg (335 lbs). The fuel capacity was 16 liters (4.2 US gallons). The bike produced a maximum power of 48 hp (35.7 kW) at 7500 rpm, with no listed maximum torque.
