The Moto Guzzi California Eldorado 2017 is a four-stroke V-twin motorcycle with a 1380cc capacity and 96hp maximum power. It has a six-speed transmission with final overdrive and shaft final drive. The design features a steel tubing frame with elastic kinematic engine mounting system for vibration isolation. The suspension system includes a standard fork with radial caliper mounting bracket in the front and swingarm with double shock absorber with adjustable extension and spring preload with a remote tank in the rear. The brakes consist of 2 x ~A320 mm stainless steel floating discs with Brembo radial calipers and one ~A282 mm stainless steel fixed disc with a Brembo floating caliper in the rear. The bike has aluminium alloy wheels and tyres are 130/90 R16 (front) and 180/65 R16 (rear). It has a ground clearance of 165mm with a seat height of 740mm. With a weight of 314kg, the bike can carry 20.5 litres of fuel. It features a phased electronic multipoint sequential injection system with Magneti Marelli IAW7SM and ride-by-wire throttle body. The ignition system is electronic with NGK LMAR8F spark plugs. It has a Euro 3 type three-way catalytic converter and runs on 12V – 18 Ah battery and 12 V – 550 W alternator. The bike has a double cardan joint with a fixed bevel gear seat for its final drive ratio. The Eldorado comes with integrated management of three engine mappings, traction control and cruise control.
