The Kawasaki Z 550GT motorcycle was produced in 1983 and featured a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 553 cc. It had a compression ratio of 9.5:1 and an induction system of 4x 22mm TK. The bike was electrically started and produced a maximum power of 58 hp at 9000 rpm and a maximum torque of 35.5 ft-lb at 7000 rpm. It had a six-speed transmission and a chain final drive.
