The Kawasaki KLR 650 was produced between 1991-92 and had a 651 cc four-stroke, single-cylinder, DOHC, 4 valve engine with liquid cooling and a compression ratio of 9.5:1. It had a Keihin CVK40 carburetor, digital TCBI ignition and an electric starting system. The max power was 48 hp at 6500 rpm and the max torque was 5.3 kgf-m at 5500 rpm. The consumption average was 18.1 km/lit and the top speed was 163.5 km/h. The braking distance from 60-0 was 13.7 m and from 100-0 was 40.0 m, while the standing 1/4 mile time was 14.2 sec at a speed of 139.9 km/h.
