The Kawasaki KDX450 was a two-stroke, single cylinder motorcycle produced from 1980 to 1982. Its engine had a capacity of 433cc and a compression ratio of . A 36mm Mikuni induction system and CDI ignition powered the bike to a maximum power output of 45 hp at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 5.3 kgf-m at 6000 rpm. The KDX450 had a five-speed transmission and a chain final drive. Front suspension consisted of adjustable air forks with a wheel travel of 259mm, while the rear suspension was Uni-Trak with a wheel travel of 230mm.
