Honda VF1000F (1985)

The Honda VF1000F (US Interceptor) motorcycle was released in 1985 and features a four stroke, 90 degree V-four cylinder engine with a capacity of 998cc and 4 valves per cylinder. With a compression ratio of 10.5:1, it produces 122 horsepower at 10,000rpm and 89.4 Nm of torque at 8000rpm. The bike has a 5-speed transmission system and a final chain drive. The front suspension includes 41mm air adjustable forks with dual Syntallic bushings, 3-way adjustable rebound damping and TRAC, while the back has a Pro-link with 3-way adjustable rebound damping. The bike weighs 238kg dry and 261kg wet, with a ground clearance of 135mm and seat height of 810mm. It has a top speed of 241.4 km/h and an average fuel consumption of 36 mpg. The front brakes consist of 2x 276mm discs 4 piston calipers, while the rear brake is a single 276mm disc 1 piston caliper. The front and rear tyres have a size of 120/80 V16 and 140/80 V17 respectively, with a wheelbase of 1505mm. This motorcycle was tested as part of a bike group test.
