Honda CX500 Turbo (1983)

The Honda CX 650TC Turbo is a motorcycle from 1983 with a turbo charged, four stroke, longitudinal 800 V-twin cylinder engine. The camshaft sits at the bottom of the V between the cylinders and has OHV, 4 valves per cylinder operated by pushrods. With a capacity of 647 cc / 39.4 cu-in, it has a compression ratio of 7.8:1 and a computerized digital fuel injection system. The bike starts via electronic means and generates a maximum power of 100 hp / 73 kW at 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 93 Nm / 68.5 lb-ft at 6000 rpm. The clutch is wet, multi-plate, and the transmission is 5-speed. Its final drive is a shaft with a 3.400:1 ratio, and the bike has 37mm Showa front suspension with adjustments for TRAC anti-dive and air pressure. It has a rear wheel travel of 104 mm / 4.1 in, and the front brakes consist of 2x 280mm discs, with a single 300mm disc for the rear brakes. The bike has a wet-weight of 260 kg / 572 lbs., with a fuel capacity of 20 Litres / 5.3 gal and an average consumption of 47 mpg. It can reach a standing 1/4 mile of 11.9 seconds at 112.4 mph and a top speed of 125 mph.
