Honda CBR1000RR (2005)

The Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade was released in 2005 and had a four stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 998 cc. It had a liquid cooling system, wet sump lubrication, and electronic fuel injection. The maximum power output was 126.4 kW / 172 hp at 11250 rpm and the maximum torque was 115 Nm / 11.73 kg-m at 10000 rpm. The transmission was 6-speed and the final drive was through a chain. The frame was made of aluminum, and it had a twin spar suspension system with a 43mm inverted fork at the front and a Pro-Link single shock at the rear. The front brake consisted of 2x 310mm discs with 4 piston calipers and the rear had a single 220mm disc with 1 piston caliper. The front and rear wheels had a tyre size of 120/70 ZR17 and 190/50 ZR17 respectively. The overall length, width, and height of the bike were 2025 mm, 720 mm, and 1120 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 1407 mm and a seat height of 828 mm. The dry weight was 179 kg / 394.6 lbs and the fuel capacity was 18 Litres / 4.8 gal. The bike could reach a top speed of 284.3 km/h or 176.6 mph. The Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade won its first-ever race at Silverstone in the BSB opener and received upgrades like radial brakes and a radial master cylinder. The bike was also the first to feature Honda’s HESD electronic steering damper.
