Ducati Multistrada 1000 DS (2005-06)

The Ducati Multistrada 1000 DS was produced from 2005-06 and boasts a four-stroke, 90-degree L-twin cylinder engine with desmodromic four valves per cylinder and belt-driven capacity. The fuel injection system uses 45mm throttle bodies and a Marelli CPU 5.9M while ignition is electronic Marelli. The bike has a dry mulitplate clutch and a six-speed transmission with a final drive ratio of 2.8:1. The suspension consists of a fully adjustable upside-down lightweight fork and a progressive cantilever linkage with a fully adjustable Showa monoshock, with length adjustment. The bike also features 320mm discs with four-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc with a two-piston caliper in the rear. The bike weighs 188 kg and has a seat height of 820mm. Fuel capacity is 20L with an average consumption of 4.55L/100 km. The standing 1/4 mile is 12.1 seconds with a top speed of 214.2km/h. A review from Motorbikes Today/Motocorse states that it was a good, but expensive bike that came with a lot of features and was more of a touring bike than an outright sports bike.
