The Ducati Monster S2R 1000 (2006-07) is a four-stroke, 90-degree L-twin cylinder motorcycle with desmodromic valves and a capacity of 992 cc. It has a compression ratio of 10.0:1 and is air-cooled. The bike uses fuel injection and a 45 mm throttle body with Marelli electronic ignition. It has a maximum power output of 70 kW and a maximum torque of 94 Nm. The transmission is a 6-speed manual with a chain final drive. The frame is a tubular steel trellis, and the front suspension consists of a Showa 43 mm upside-down fully adjustable fork with a 130 mm wheel travel.
