Ducati Monster 1000 (2004)

The Ducati Monster 1000, manufactured in 2004, is a four-stroke motorcycle with a 90-degree L twin cylinder engine. It has a desmodromic two valves per cylinder and a capacity of 992cc. The bore and stroke are 94 x 71.5 mm. The cooling system is air cooled and the compression ratio is 10.0:1. The engine oil used is a semi-synthetic, 10W/40 lubricant. It has a Marelli CPU 5.9M fuel injection with 45mm throttle bodies and is ignited by a Marelli electronic system. The motorcycle starts with an electric motor. The maximum power generated by the engine is 61.2 kW/84 hp at 8000 rpm, whereas the max torque is 84 Nm/8.6 kgf-m/62 ft-lb at 6000 rpm. The clutch is dry, multiplate with a hydraulic control system, and the transmission is a six-speed gearbox. The primary drive ratio is 1.84:1 (32/59), and the gear ratios are 1st 2,466/2nd 1.764/3rd 1.350/4th 1.091/5th 0.958/6th 0.857. The final drive is by a chain and has a front sprocket of 15 and a rear sprocket of 39 (2.6:1). The frame is a tubular steel trellis, and the front suspension is a Showa 43 mm upside-down fully adjustable fork with a front wheel travel of 130 mm / 5.0 in. The rear suspension has a progressive linkage with a fully adjustable Sages Boge monoshock with a piggyback aluminum swing arm, and a rear wheel travel of 148 mm / 5.8 in.
