Ducati 860 GT / GTE (1974-75)

The Ducati 860 GT / GTE motorcycle was produced from 1974-75 and boasted a four stroke, 90 degree L twin cylinder engine with a capacity of 864 cc / 52.7 cu in. The engine included SOHC and 2 valves per cylinder, bevel gear driven technology. The compression ratio was 9.0:1 and the cooling system was air cooled. The Ducati model came with a 2 x 32mm Dell’Orto PHF 32 A (C) carburetors and ignition was electronic. The motorcycle had a maximum power of 41.9 kW / 57 hp at 7700 rpm and was equipped with a wet, multiplate clutch and a 5-speed transmission. The final drive ratio was 2.500:1 (16/40) and the final drive itself was a chain. The front suspension was 38 mm Ceriani fork and the rear suspension was Marzocchi dual shocks. The front brake was a single 280mm disc with a 1 piston caliper and the rear brake was a 200mm drum. The motorcycle was started with a kick, with an electric starter being optional. The battery used was the GT: Yuasa 12N-12A-4A-12V, while the GTE used a B68-12 36Ah battery.
